Behind the Stage, Plas Newydd, National Trust

Theatrical interpretation for Plas Newydd re-servicing project; Between 2019 to 2021, a brand new experience will welcome visitors to the house at Plas Newydd. With the essential rewiring and plumbing work happening safely behind the scenes, visitors are invited to discover more about the past, present and future work to safeguard and conserve the house. Visitors are not only able to go ‘behind the stage’, but invited to question the purpose of conservation. Vica, Cosmetic Technology

Vica is a data driven cosmetic company. The identity is inspired by the lissajous figures, each motif is generated by the user’s dermatological data. The printed matters placed great emphasis on tactility of substrate and subtlety of the foiling, a bespoke paper clip was commissioned for everyday use.

Latent Specators, UNArt Center, Shanghai

Curated by Iris Long and V2 Lab for the Unstable Media, Latent Spectators exhibits four artists’ works on the theme of technology and perception. Liu Xin, Lisa Chang Lee, Coralie Vogelaar and Johannes Langkamp with fourteen works responding to the question — Are humans and machines likely to capture the same reality? Is there room for different ways of sensing the world, different from the model of modern science?

China Dream, Book Design

Book and typeface design for Canadian fine art photographer Teresa Eng. China Dream explores the fractured identity of second generation diaspora. The book’s substrates are reminiscent of the Chinese natural and urban sceneries portrayed by Eng. Complementary to the photo book, the booklet comprises an essay on the Chinese Diaspora experience. Brighton Centre for Contemporary Arts

Identity and typeface design for new major contemporary arts gallery in Brighton. The design reflects the centre’s focus on experimentation, process and research lead practice, the modular structure of the typography originates from the process of creating letterforms with tape.

Architecture Exchange

The Architecture Exchange is a platform that fosters architectural discourse through a series of exchanges, books, workshops, histories, and issues of our audio journal. Exchange series will be published by Bloomsbury in 2020.

Dark Matter, Science Gallery London

The Dark Matter exhibition presents ideas at the interface of science, technology and art, informed by conversations and collaborations with leading theoretical physicists from King's College London and their research at the limits of what can be observed or known. Halo

Organised by The Architects’ Journal as a part of the borough’s £500 million Growth Zone programme, Twelve and vPPR Architects together with Whitewall Co. won the competition to develop an interactive wayfinding system for Croydon Council. With LEDs set in perforated Cor-ten steel fascia and downward light curtain, Halo is a family of devices that not only provides interactive information such as local data, weathers and local businesses, but also serves as a temporary stage for street performances. Currently under development, the first Halo is to be expected by the end of 2018.

Pujiang Paths

Commissioned by Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Planning & Land Resources to design a set of map and guiding booklets. The project is to coincide with the regeneration plan of both sides of the Huangpu River. 2017

GAO

Identity Design for London-based Gallery in Active Operation. Inspired by Yü Bing-nan — who created Freundschafts Antiqua in the form of bamboo pen strokes during 1960s in GDR — we redrew and updated his early drawings as a display font.

vPPR Architects

Graphic design and web development for vPPR architects. A homage to Josef Albers and Jan Tschichold’s exploration in stencil typography, a custom font was created to reflect the geometric nature of vPPR’s works. London, 2017.

Imagining Architecture Beyond the End Times

The book is to capture the reflections of a generation caught between the failures of utopian thought and cynical reason, it seeks to retool old means in search of new ends; of new stars by which to navigate in an age of dis-aster, literally, an age without stars.
