ArtReview is an international contemporary art magazine based in London, Twelve was asked to design the Chinese edition in 2023. The overall design maintains the essence of the international version by John Morgan Studio while interpreting Hanzi and Latin scripts in parallel. Reflecting a lineage of quiet precision in Chinese print design, it articulates the balance between modernism and traditional formality.

Arcangel explores the potential and failures of digital technologies—both old and new—highlighting their obsolescence, humour, aesthetic attributes, and eerie influence in contemporary life. The brochure design incorporates the materiality of his exhibition in Shanghai 2024, while its physicality resonates with the echo of Arcangel’s practice. The title of the show is printed on fluorescent paper snippets, loosely enclosed in a PVC wrap. The typographic method closely relates to the one used on GitHub, and the pixel-based artworks can be infinitely zoomed in.
